Editorial 2016

While this year marks IMPULSE’s 13th year, it relevance, value, and size only continue to increase. Last year we added two new Reviewer Training Sites and we are encouraged to build on that momentum. This summer, the Managing Editor and I will be traveling to Copenhagen for the 2016 FENS meeting. We are looking forward to connecting with other student researchers, learning more about new developments in both the field of academic publishing and neuroscience, and hopefully laying the groundwork for expanding our presence internationally. The editorial team will also be presenting for the 14th year at the Society for Neuroscience conference in San Diego, CA. It is always exciting to represent IMPULSE at such a large meeting and we are looking forward to presenting in person with the UC-SD team! As always, we have quite a few submissions lined up for publication in 2016. While I have served in many roles with the journal over the past three years, it is an honor to be working directly with authors and rewarding to watch their manuscripts evolve into a finished publication.

Appalachian State has served as the journal’s host site since 2011, and while it will be bittersweet, I am confident in a smooth transition and honored to help “pass the torch” to our next host site.
